How duplicate lines are identified
Two lines are duplicates only when their contents match exactly, including capitalization and spaces. For example, “Apple” and “apple” are different lines, as are “name” and “name ” with a trailing space. The tool does not trim or normalize line contents before comparing them.
When a duplicate is found, the first matching line stays in place and later identical lines are removed. The remaining lines keep their original order.
Example input
pear apple pear Apple
Result
pear apple Apple
